Hi for my homework I have to solve a number of equeations so they are a formula like:
Key
* is squared

3x*+4x-5=0

I need to make these equations into the same layout as the above equation.

1. 1/x+3/x+2=7 2. 7/2x+2/x-1=4

3. x*+7x+2=2x+4 3. 4x*-3x=2x*+7

4. 2x+3/x-1=x/4

please could you show me the working out to how you change it into a formula like 3x*+4x-5=0 or a site that could help me

Thankyou

1/x+3/x+2=7
Multiply by x getting:
1+3+2x =7x
4-5x =0
0x* -5x +4 =0

7/2x+2/x-1=4
Multiply by 2x getting:
7 +4 -2x =8x
11-10x = 0
0x* -10x +11 = 0

x*+7x+2=2x+4
x* +7x -2x +2 -4=0
x* +5x -2 = 0

4x*-3x=2x*+7
4x* -2x*-3x -7 =0
2x*-3x-7 =0

2x+3/x-1=x/4
Multiply by x getting:
2x* +3 -2x = x*/4
2x* - x*/4 -2x +2=0
2.25x* -2x +2 = 0

There, its done simply by multiplying and transposing terms to get what you want. You can move any term from one side of the equation to the other as long as you change its sign fro minus to plus or plus to minus.

1.
1/x+3/x+2=7
4/x+2=7
4/x=7-2
4/x=5
4=5x
x=4/5 --- there is no need to solve this quadratically.

2.
7/2x+2/x-1=4
3.5/x+2/x=4+1
5.5/x=5
5.5=5x
x=5.5/5
x=1.1 ----- Similar question to Q1.

3.
x*+7x+2=2x+4
x*+7x-2x+2-4=0
x*+5x-2=0

3.
4x*-3x=2x*+7
4x*-2x*-3x-7=0
2x*-3x-7=0

4.
2x+3/x-1=x/4
2x-x/4+3/x-1=0
2x-0.25x+3/x-1=0
1.75x-1+3/x=0

Multiply the equation by x on both sides.
1.75x*-x+3=0

the answer's 19! exact how-to lower than: to make this extra reachable, crew the x's mutually with, of route, their +/- indications: 3x - 2x + 17 + 2 now it truly is an equation, and in case you spot no equivalent signal (=), then you definitely ought to assume that if there became, your complete equation must be equivalent to 0: 3x - 2x + 17 + 2 = 0 now simplify-- use straightforward subtraction at the same time as coping with the variables (ignoring the x's, yet remembering to positioned them contained in the effect) this signifies that you ought to respond to "3-2": 1x + 19 = 0 i have been given the nineteen with the help of including 17 and a couple of. you presently have a "1x", yet you may eliminate the "a million", because writing down in simple terms "x" rather skill "1x" x + 19 = 0 now to unravel it, the variable must be on one area, and the traditional cost on the different area. keep in mind that in case you're taking a quantity or a variable with the help of the equivalent signal, you ought to continually replace this is +/- signal! : x = -19 or 19 = -x now you've the answer! x is a similar as "adverse 19" or "-19" or you may examine it as "adverse x is a similar as 19", it rather is an similar ingredient. desire this became adequate element.

questions 1,2, 4, multiply both sides by x to start with, then add and subtract from either side to get to the format above.

q3 - if you cant do this one then give up now cos it's v easy.
take 2x from each side and take 4 from each side gives you

x* +5x -2 =0
