I just watched a special on the Discovery Health Channel this past week on in-vitro fertilization. I was suprised to learn that each woman (on the show) gave 5-20 eggs which were than fertilzed. In one case in particular, 3 days after fertilization and before the embryo was implanted into the mother, the doctor could tell the embryo was a boy! I was amazed! But then, I was also really affected--because only 2 of this womans 18 embryos were implanted--I mean, only 2 of them were even given a chance to survive. The other 16 were "discarded."
I thought I would let you know because I would want to know about this if I was you. Also, if this does matter to you, don't despair--there are so many children that want to be adopted from all over the world.
Good luck and God bless!

I hate to tell you this as it's not a positive answer but I have had IVF treatment and you have to fit very strict criteria to get it free on the NHS. Unfortunately, in most areas your age and the fact that you already have a child (no matter who the father is) will mean you won't get it. So sorry to be the one telling you that. xxx

Unfortunately because you already have a child and are obviously able to get pregnant naturally you wouldnt get treatment on the NHS, and also because of your age they wouldnt do it either. i'm afraid the only way you will be able to get the treatment is if you pay for it privately which can be up to £3000 each attempt. Sorry for the bad news!!!!
