If you both believe in God, then what the heck's the problem???Who cares what name you go by? God, Khrishna, Rama, Budda, Jehovah, whatever. Isn't it all still love?? Who cares what name you give it? So if one of you needs to convert to the other's religion in the name of love, so what? God is God no matter what name you give him, what religion you choose. As long as you honor him and what he stands for, why should anything stand in your way? And is there some reason why you can't embrace both religions? I know of families who have raised their children in both faiths - one was Catholic, one was Jewish. So, they grow up loving the Lord in more ways than one. What's wrong with that? It's not like one of you is a devil worshipper or something. God has enough room for all of us to love him no matter how we choose to express it. If you are more comfortable with expressing it as a Buddhist, fine! If he is more comfortable with being a Catholic, fine! Do you think God really cares what name we put on it? But live what you preach!

I am a Buddhist and my fiance is Catholic. While this isn't a problem on a daily basis, issues do occasionally arise (mostly due to my disdain towards Catholicism), and they will obviously continue to do so as life goes on. We often have deep discussions about how we're going to handle our wedding, our holidays, and especially the raising of any future children. I don't want a Catholic baptism for my children, but he insists on it.
I think it can work, but you need to talk and be very open and honest and willing to compromise. You also need to stand by your belief system, though. Counseling can be very helpful in mediating the differences.
Good luck!

I think that if two people really love each other will stay together no mather what people say or think. You know that you find true love only once in your life. Do you afford to let him go knowing that he might be the one , just because you don't have the same religion?
Don't worry about what other people think, they don't do it oftenly(think i mean).
Love each other even more and maybe in the future people will be more tolerable.

If neither of you are fanatical in your beliefs there should be no problem. Under no circumstances should either of you attempt to push your beliefs onto the other.
As for the zodiac, that's just stupid belief that was outlawed way back in the days of the Romans. The exact time of year that you were born has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of your life. It's just plain superstition.

I understand your dilemma...but you both can have a wonderful life together. If you can open up enough and learn more about Buddhism, you will be pleasantly surprised.
I learned alot from Mary Peeler...look up this medium on the internet. I think her understanding will help you. She's a beautiful soul.
Good luck to the both of you!

the question should be: are we ready to do comprimise for each other?
the truth is most enduring relationships are the ones the grew through with individual differences. You dont learns things you already know.
the issue of religion is indeed a major compromise to make. Love is above it, & anything else i can think of. unless he wants to be a priest, then his Love of God might be greater than what he has for you.

You know the answer to your own question. I think your just asking to find an excuse to fool yourself away from what you know you should be doing. Do what you have to do. We don't know.

well Buddhism isn't like you think he is a god or anything so i don't see how it should bother him. Buddha was a teacher not a god. he should no that.
