This is my daughter. She has a ipod nano, dvd player, Stero, most of the things she helped pay for with her b-day/Christmas money and I went in on the rest for her birthday/Christmas. She is a saver, which is good, but I got her a cell phone(big $$ gift) for Christmas, I'm just looking for a few other things for her. Her and her sister are somewhat spoiled (younger sister Autistic), but not snooty, thank goodness. I buy then what they want for holidays, not crap that will end up broken or unused. I would rather give them money, but opening a gift is far more fun. I just need help finding things. She keeps telling me I don't know. I want to surprise her.

$25: Bath & Body Works Kit

$35: CD/Burnable CD Stack/Cute cashmere winter set

$50: Claires jewlery, candles, cute socks, Cashmere winter set, gift certificate to their favorite stores, CD, cute new Mudd purse

$75: Concert tickets to an approved band by their parents, all of the above.

When I was a teenager it wasn't about getting a BIG HUGE expensive gift. It was cooler to get a wrapped box full of cool things. If you buy 5 necklesses 30 dollars, socks and nail polish she would have a large selection. And if they didn't like one thing you got it wouldnt matter....

Now when it comes to guys:

$25: CD most definatley

$35: DVD set to their favorite TV show (ask parents what seasons they have)

$50: CD's, candy, gift certificates, DVD's for guys are a big one.

$75: Still concert tickets

Gluck!

Stock in a company that the kid is interested in.... You can get into some companies for as little as $50.oo

Search : "direct stock purchase plans" and it will give you many companies you can buy from with out a broker, you buy directly from the company!

No time like the present to kids interested in their own financial future !! They probably have enough crap lying around the way it is... why not get them something that can make them more money!!!!

Definately money or a gift card. (movies, walmart, target, restaurant, the choice is endless) This way you don't disappoint them with what you thought was the perfect gift (even though it is supposed to be the thought that counts...teens don't actually think like the rest of us lol). This way they can get whatever they want and be happy. =) Good luck!

An ipod or if they already have one a gift certificate to the itunes music store. Another good option would be a gift certificate to Amazon.com
