Math makes everything easier. If you're still in high school, you should take math until the very end. Most colleges that offer science degrees, like the one you're talking about, require that you take at least two classes of upper level math. At most schools this means calculus.

You will need good math skills to handle the chemistry and physics involved in biochem. At my college, a biochem degree requires 4 classes of upper division chemistry on top of 2 classes required for your basics. Biochem is extremely math oriented even though it is biology. Taking plenty of math now will make things easier in the long run.

It is a very good idea. You must take math.It will help you understand physical chemistry which is a part of biochemistry these days.Moreover math will help you design computer programmes for several types of calculations needed in the Biochem.If you are going abroad and going in for Msc in biochem you will have to take math and stat courses. Why not be proficient in math now?
