When you subtract fractions, you only subtract the numerators (the top numbers). The denominator stays the same.

So...7-3 would be 4 and the bottom would still be 8.

4/8 is the same as 1/2 because 4 is half of 8.

You've gotten the answer from other people, but here's a piece of advice. Adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and converting fractions are all basic things you should know--not only to pass tests in school, but for the rest of your life. These are useful things to know.
