Maybe you just know? Body language and more important to watch is eye contact, in fact is it a glance upwards to the left or right indicates wether a person is accessing a part of the brain that is creative (lying) or memory (truth)...but not sure which Go check it out..

Well, everyone is different, like for me, I'm not a good lair, so when I "try" to lie, I always laugh. When my sister tries to lie to me, she's always turned around while talking to me. When my bestfriend lies she never shuts up and keeps talking and talking. So everyone is different so there is no one way for certain to tell if someone is lying but as you get to know someone you can tell by little things they do.

In my experience, it is always the eyes that gives a liar away. For example twitching of the eyes or the person looking at the ground (indirect eye contact) The person may be very uncomfortable on their feet, for example they may wave their arms around or rock on their feet. Basically this is an effect caused by the brain because it knows that the person is being deceitful. However, a person can train their brain to mask all these signs over time, making them very convincing.

I can usually tell someone is lying if they keep dodging making eye contact with me....a liar cannot look you continously in the eye usually when speaking to you.

well if you think they are lying chances are that they are but if you really want to be able to tell everyone lies differently just pay close attention to them when you know for a fact that they are lying and when they are telling the truth that way you will know all the time when they lie to you...

When the person is talking to you there are 2 very good signs to watch for to see if they are lieing. Watch their eyes, when someone is lieing they will look to the left. Also watch their eyebrow, when their lieing it will rise up. The person lieing doesn't know they are doing this. As a saleman, I watch for both of these to know when a customer is trying to pull a fast one. Do you ever watch Judge Judy, When someone is talking to her she always makes the person look at her. Ask any cop, they also know when dealing with a crook.

I usually look at people's eyes when they are talking. If they are blinking excessively, it normally means that they're not confident in what they are saying. You could interpret that to mean that they don't have enough information about what they're speaking of, or that they aren't being truthful.
Otherwise, vocal inflections, hand wringing, and fidgeting are good things to look for when you're concerned about someone's truthfulness.
