Hi. I am 8 weeks pregnant I went to the doctor yesterday and they did an ultrasound and found one fetus with a heartbeat and doing good, but then they saw something abnormal in a different area of the uterus the doctor said that it was a possible molor pregnancy or a twin that I am going to miscarry. Anyone else go through this? Or have any tips or advice. By the way I am not spotting or bleeding or cramping. I go through more tests today to determine what it is but I need some help!!!!!????

I run a site for molar pregnancies and I'm sorry to say that in most cases a mole left untreated can cause damage to the mother or another living fetus. There is a chance that you will have to terminate the pregnancy or that the viable fetus will eventually be affected by the molar twin. I'm so sorry that you are going through this, and I hope that you will be able to carry your viable baby to term, but you should be prepared for the worst. Molar pregnancies can develop into malignant tumors if left untreated, and then would require chemotherapy.

The doctor will want to do more testing probably to be certain that the twin is a mole, and from there I can't say for sure how they will want you to proceed. For more information about molar pregnancy you can visit my website, mymolarpregnancy.com. Again, I am very sorry that you are going through this, and I wish you the best.

a molar pregnancy is just as is an unfertilized egg that something had started to grow in but it was not a baby (this is just what I have been told) It won't hurt the baby that you are carrying but they will probably want to remove it at a later time. Good luck!

A molar pregnancy is just an unfertilized egg I think. I doubt it'll hurt your other baby so try not to worry about it.

I don't know what a molar pregnancy is but I hope things work out fine for you and your baby.
