Yes, men are capable of impregnating someone well into their 70's though the sperm is of a much lesser quality.

imagine my suprise i was 35 my new husband was 46 we had no plans to start a family of our oun and i had a tubal so who would have guessed that we'd end up pregnant we didn't i thought i had the flu but no i had concived. he is now 48 and i am 37 our baby is 2 and i feel like the oldest parent in history because all these other parents are in their early twenties or younger. if u have been trying for a long time and nothing is happening there could be problems but it could be nothing you should not worry so much you both have kids if it happens it happens if not at least you've been able to both be parents enjoy your new family and just one more thing it is hard as hell to be old and pregnant trust me i know but good luck any way ( iknow thirty is not that old but when some young girl comes up to you and says "oh your grand daughter is so cute" you'll feel pretty damn old) trust me she did apologise she said my moms your age i did not know that old people could get pregnant. that was a bad day for me

Although men tend to become less fertile as they age 40 is still very young. I know of many older men who have newborn babies and they are way past 60.
The best that you can do is to see a doctor who may be able to determine the problem - if there is one. From there a possible solution can be found.
Good Luck

He would need to get checked out by a Doctor to be sure. I was 39 and my husband was 42 when we had the last of our 5 children.

you would have to go the doctor to know for sure. but if you are having problems you should both get checked. but there may not be any problems sometimes it takes a while to get pregnant. hes not too old yet though, my dad is 47 and him and his wife just had a baby a few months ago. be patient, dont assume already that something is wrong.

Hello -- If he is taking blood pressure meds that could be
the only reason. If you really want to have another child I could tell you an easy way. First Response. This is an
ovulation kit.It tests your urine every morning and when it turns blue then you can have a baby.
PS -- Sperm in a man can really never get old, to the best of my knowledge.

He may have a low sperm count, however as he already has one child it is unlikely that you aren't able to concieve at all.

Most men still produce sperm when they are 70 + so he still has 'alot of life left in him' so to speak!!

IF you still dont have alot of luck i'd go to a family planning clinic who can help you with various forms of treatment!

Im not sure the "cut off" for men but I know they can have kids long after us! Have his sperm checked (although I dont think this needs to be done cause he has kids but hi count could have lowered since he is older now)

Good luck

His age shouldn't be an issue but if you're having trouble you can both see fertility specialists or try charting your cycle. You can also try going on a procreation vacation. I heard about that on the news and it looks like fun. You never know... Good luck.

If it has been a long time and you are concerned, you both need to get checked out. His age alone has nothing to do with it.
