if you have not felt movement at all then everything is probably fine. Although you should ask for an ultrasound to make sure of a heart beat. If you have felt movement in the past, and now there is none, you need to go to the doctor. The baby could be in distress. The stiffing up and releasing is braxton hicks contractions. They are practice contractions. Normal.

I wouldnt worry too much. In my first pregnancy it was about 24 weeks before I really could say that any tummy activity was due to the baby.
I use to get a 'bubble' feeling and I thought it was wind!! Then I was told it was the baby moving.
As long as you have had check ups...and a scan...you should be ok. You'll appreciate times like this later on!
Good luck

Is this your first child? If so, you may not feel movement until 28 weeks or so. Your tummy getting stiff "is" movement, btw.

im sure its ok since the dr hasnt been worried about it,.. my daughter kicked all the time my son never really kicked he would take his foot and push it into my stomach so you could actually see the imprint of his foot he also did this with his head or butt i would have this huge hard knot in one spot and it would actually hurt sometimes but he was fine so maybe you just have a baby who likes to strech and thats what the stiff place is and maybe he or she just isnt a kicker but if you are really worried about it talk to your doc about this

i think i started feeling movements at 18weeks but i couldnt be totall sure until a few weeks later, they just felt like bubbles in my tummy at first. you will feel them soon, and eventually you will be able to see them too, very very strange but beayutiful experience. i ws totally fascinated.

maybe your little angel is a lazy one, or maybe the baby is positioned kicking in and not out. Anyway you ahould bring this up to your dr because, altough it could be normal...you should feel kicks around this time.
