My favourite lyrics by The Cardigans

Good morning joan, did you wake up alone, did you dream you woke up happy, with a phone book full of names.
Just forget about Mary, she say's everythings scary, she got locked inside her skin, get near her she'll drag you in

I felt and heard the words leaving my lips - what a fantastic question !!!!

will be back school run.......................

I'm not sure but i knew u would get quite a few answers. oh and i just noticed u support the hoops! Do you still sing I never felt more like singing the blues, the rangers win, the chelsea lose? I wouldn't be surprised Ha Ha

I could think of about half a dozen that really stick in my mind, e.g.

"Candy says, I've come to hate my body and all that it requires in this world" by the velvet underground. Means a lot to me as i have known anorexics and stuff.

I agree with the Aerosmith song.."I could stay awake, just to hear u breathing, watch u smile while u are sleeping, when ur far away and dreaming" - fantastic.

Some of the more unusual are:- the smiths

"so i broke into the palace, with a sponge and a rusty spanner, she said eh i know u and u cannot sing, i said that's nothing, u should hear me play piano" only Morrisey could get away with that surely!!
also
"I said Charles do you ever crave, to appear on the front of the daily mail, dressed in your mother's bridal veil?" crazy or what!

I think we covered the little richard type scenario. that wouldn't win!

One of my favourites tho at the moment is the Kosheen song Hungry:-

"You're like a child with old eyes,
cynical and sensible, always full of surprises,
you travel far and wide,
looking for a feeling, lost inside you"

wonderful. each song or lyric means something different to the listener tho so i guess the answer for individual will depend on that.

Best Christian song, cos don't forget, some Christians would say it is one of their songs.maybe this one:-

"How great the pain of searing loss,
the Father turns His face away,
as wounds which mar the Chosen One,
bring many sons to glory"

a real thriller of a question and maybe u should ask again to get more answers. It was that good.

Good luck to the hoops and might see u there sometime!

The answer is:

"Hey I'd like to daze away to a place no-one has known.
In a state of mind I could call mine, that only I could own.
Where I could hum a tune any time I choose and there's no such thing as time.
Where I'd feel no pain, just calm and sane - what a place for one to find."

From the song "I wonder", by Blind Melon, off their eponymous first album.

the lines, all in the same song. John Mayer's "Belief" he says:
"Belief is a beautiful armor
that makes for the heaviest sword
like punching underwater
you never can hit who your trying for"
that's great imagry, symbolism- good stuff. then at the end of the song, he says
" what puts 100,000 children in the sand? Belief can, belief can
what puts the folded flag inside hismother's hand? belief can"

very powerful.

There are so many......... I would probably end up choosing 1 from one of the "Presisdents Of The United States Of America" tracks coz they are just brilliant and make me smile whenever I listen to them. Smiling is important!

another 1 i like is
"just keep swimming, just keep swimming" by Dory in Finding Nemo

I first felt a fist, and then a kick, I could now smell their breath,
It smelt of pubs, and wormwood scrubs, and too many right wing meetings,
My life swam around me, it took a look and drowned me in it's own existence,
It smelt of brown leather, it blended in with the weather,
It filled my eyes, ears, nose and mouth,it blocked all my senses,
Couldn't see,hear, speak any longer.

Down in the tubestation at midnight by The Jam.

MARCH OF CAMBREADTH
(Author: Heather Alexander

Axes flash, broadswords swing
Shining armors’ piercing ring
Horses run with polished shield
Fight those bastards ‘til they yield

Midnight mare, blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die?

Follow orders as you’re told
Make their yellow blood run cold
Fight until you die or drop
A force like ours is hard to stop

Close your mind to stress and pain
Fight ‘til you’re no longer sane
Let not one damn cur pass by
How many of them can we make die?

Guard your women and children well
Send these bastards back to Hell
We’ll teach them the ways of war
And they won’t come here anymore

Use your shield and use your head
Fight ‘til everyone is dead
Raise the flag up to the sky
How many of them can we make die?

Dawn has broke, the time has come
Move your feet to the marching drum
We’ll win the war and pay the toll
Fight as one in heart and soul

Midnight mare and blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die?

Axes flash, broadswords swing
Shining armors’ piercing ring
Horses run with polished shield
Fight those bastards ‘til they yield

Midnight mare and blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die?
How many of them can we make die?
How many of them can we make die?

or how about "momma's got a squeeze box, daddy never sleeps at night!"

I love Rascal Flatts "I'm Movin' On".

The words in that song sum up the mistakes everyone has made in their lives and gives you the permission to know it's okay to forgive yourself.

"Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road. I'm movin' on"
