Hi there,
I'm 22 years old and currently taking Marvelon-28 birth control, have been taking it for about 8-9 months now.
I have been experiencing a brown period. The first day I got it, it was a tiny bit brown with a bit of red.. then the next day it was dark red.. then it turned dark brown again with a tiny bit of red again.
I am still having this problem.
I am concerned that it might be my birth control. It has started happening like this since a few months after taking my birth control.
Can someone please let me know what it is??
I have also asked a question on Yahoo Answers as well.. and most people say it's the birth control. BUT I don't know what to think... some also say that I should go to the Doc's just to make sure everything is well with me.
I'm QUITE concerned. If anyone has been experiencing something similar or has an idea or knows what's wrong with me.. PLEASE let me know.
E-Mail... : sweet.cherry.pie@gmail.com
I would like as much information as possible.

Call your doctor and book an appointment. Thats what they're there for. No one can make an accurate diagnosis over the internet like this. I hope it turns out to be okay

Sounds pretty normal to me. It sounds like you are just having a very light period. You could ask your doctor. Usually you can just call with questions of this sort and not have to go in, but I doubt there is a problem. Brown period blood is normal.

I found this answer for if it happens right after periods:On Palo Alto Medical foundation's website, it is says it is just "cleaning out" your vagina. It might be that old blood looks brown.
You still might want to check with your doctor. Just in case.

Brown period means "old blood" and it's not strange. But it's always better to see a doctor, get a pap smear and blood analysis. it'll tell him everything he needs to know and you'll feel better knowing you have power over this.

this is normal, your period gets less and less the more you are on the pill, and sometimes you get periods where you just dont get alot of blood, and sometimes your blood can clot a lot and that is why the blood is darker.. you are fine...
