Since you have two children to take care of you should enlist the help of anyone competent enough to help you with them. You alone could use some of that help just to keep you off your foot. Ouch!!! Elevate your foot to help with the swelling. Take Extra Strength Tylenol when you need more pain relief than what the doctor gave you, with his permission of coarse, and allow time to do what it needs to do to heal your foot. Ibueprofin is good for relieving swelling, but it can be very hard on your stomach lining especially if you already have any kind of trouble with your stomach. Make sure you take it with some food. Lots of water helps every process of the body on the cellular level, but be sure you are close enough to your bathroom so that you don't have to do much walking. Get on line and look up the GNC or other nutritional stores to see what is available. They could even send you products in overnight mail. It sounds like the best thing for you though is to enlist the help of the kids for whatever they are big enough to do for you and themselves. It is a good chance for them to learn how to pull together as a family in times of need. If they are too small though then that obviously won't help much. Also, if money is an issue, in our area we can call the local county Health and Human Resources Center and ask for temporary assistance. This could mean someone coming in to help you with yourself and/or the kids. Some states and counties are stricter than other but it couldn't hurt to look into it. If money isn't an issue, then try hiring a temporary "nanny" or house nurse. Hope this gives you some ideas. Feel better soon. I would help you myself if I could. Good Luck!

Hi well the only thing i can suggest for his injury to heal quickly is to rest, yes i know you have children but by walking on this foot makes the injury worse.Take regular pain relief Ibrufen are the best as they have anti-inflammatry in them.Borrow some crutches if you can, just saves you putting all your weight on to that ankle. You need to elevate the foot when you are resting higher then your heart, apply a cold compress for the swelling and the bruising will come out more too.Kepp thous toes moving this will help the circulation. Now if you are not getting no better and the pain is still bad,go bck to your gp,yes you said you have not got no fractures, but when theres alot off swelling fractures dont always show up on the x-rays,thats why we also ask for a further x-ray 10 later, keep this in mind ok.Well take care, any more advice needed email me.Good Luck

Rooster is right. Arnica in tablet form form or cream and rub it on. I take it you have had an x-ray to determine there is no break? If it is all muscle damage you just need to let it heal. You could have some Reiki done on the area and learn some visualising techniques and spend a some minutes a few times a day totally relaxing and visualising the muscles and bruising healing. It is really effective, give it a try.
If you feel lots of pain your body needs to rest but keep moving around when you can so the muscles retain flexibility as they are healing. The Reiki will keep your mind sane also while you are indisposed.

I have. When I was in college, I dated a guy who shared a townhouse with two other guys. They had a party one night and I got really drunk. I was coming down the stairs and couldn't really focus. I missed like 3 stairs and fell all the way down. EVERYONE at the party saw me! I was so embarrassed. The guy I was dating made a statement to me that I will never forget. He told me the ugliest thing in the world to see is a drunk woman! I haven't gotten drunk since and never plan to.

Ibuprofen gel and Arnica cream. They can be mixed quite happily as one is homeopathic, the other chemical - the ibuprofen will bring down the swelling and the arnica help with the bruising and soreness.
I had a nasty car accident with similar symptoms afterwards and arnica (tablets as well as cream) worked wonders.
Do try to rest it when you can though -raise it on cushions on the sofa for instance - and pop something cold wrapped in a cloth on it for a while when you do.

Ibuprofen. Tiger balm. Magic Bag, heat it in the microwave for three or four minutes. If the muscles are truly torn they need to be stitched back together again and it needs to be done soon because they will lose their elasticity if you wait too long. Ask a relative to look after the kids for a few days, just until you heal.

Seek answer from a professional. If you have been treated already then call that hospital & ask what more can be done.

take ibuprofen for the swelling but you really should put it up and pack ice on it, the more you put weight on it the longer it will take to get better.
