Keep the lights on during the day, and a little into the night, keep them off during the time you sleep, fish also like to sleep. I've noticed my betta likes it when the lights are on, mainly because he sits at the bottom under plants at night. Way more active during the day though.

maximum fish favor to have an afternoon and evening. Fish aquariums have lights fixtures in them in an attempt to grant a sunlight hours and a evening. imagine about fish in organic circumstances, which include lakes and oceans. The solar rises, and the solar contraptions. hence, at the same time as your aquarium comes with a mild on the accurate, you ought to turn it off at evening. top right here web site less than, supplies information because the "organic" mild is to be sure your tank close to a window the position they could get the solar, taking into interest how a lot publicity, we wouldnt favor to cook dinner our little acquaintances. and likewise approaches for mild with bulbs. The tank in my bedroom is wanting to organic mild, at the same time as the only in the front room is on bulbs. All fish and creatures choose a slumbering time, and promises nocturnal species time to pop out also, at the same time as its darkish ope this permits :)

If your tank receives a lot of natural light, you don't need artificial ones, but if it's in a corner with no natural light source, artificial lights should be turned on for about 8 hours during the day, off at night.

honestly he will like it better with the light off, however if you have him in a small tank and the light is the only source of heat you may want to keep it on for about 9 hours to try to maintain a water temperature of 80F

Like everyone else, bettas need night and day. So leave the lights on for 10-12 hours a day, and then turn them off.

A 5$ timer you can buy at any Walmart is a great purchase. You can set it and forget it, so to speak.

You need to simulate exactly what happens in nature. Keep the light on during the day and switch it off at night.

I turn mine off when I go to bed, on when I get up. Seems to work out for everything in the tanks.

It depends, saltwater fish like dark water, like the ocean, but freshwater fish like it light. Fish mostly only see color blobs, so a saltwater fish will like dark colors, freshwater will like light.
