What an appalling story... Incidentally, I'm surprised at the statement "The investigation proved tricky because "there is not a lot of scientific research and data on the effect of microwaves on human beings," according to Mr Betz." Mr Betz should have a word with some (especially older) radar engineers who will no doubt tell him of engineers who accidentaly got a microwave RF burn where the damage was below the skin surface. They thought they were OK until the true damage was discovered.
I should have thought a controlled experiment (using probably a pork specimen ), and comparing the damage between the victim and the specimen would go a long way to proving the case one way or another. But what a dreadful death, if true.

I don't understand how someone could do that. The baby was only one month old, and she left it with a baby sitter!? Even so, she said when she got home that the sitter said the baby was sleeping, so the mother didn't even go to see her own 1 month old and just went to bed herself!? In a related story, approx. 2 yrs ago (I could be wrong with the time) a mother killed her baby in the same manner. She said she had epileptic seizures and she blacked out. She thought she was putting a bottle for the baby in the microwave, when she actually put the baby in.

Well we live in a cruel world and children are being abused everyday. If you look on the news everyday you will see some sick stories . People are getting sicker and sicker.This person will probably get off because of some kind of mental illness . It is sad but true.

The child must have been in agony. It is the very essence of depravity, it strikes at the very heart of the maternal instinct. Make no mistake though, there will be lots of apologists out there only too willing to try and justify it. She must have been depressed, I can hear it now.

OMG!? I felt sick just reading that article and I'm still nautious. I love my kids more than anything else in this world and to see that there are people out ther who are killing these precious souls are just beyond cruel and sadistic. Ugh the mere thought of what she did is way too much. I hope she gets what she deservs. I pray that GOD takes care of that precious little soul and that who ever did this prepares himself/herself for what GOD has in store for them and rest assure it won't be pretty.

This has to be the sickest thing I have seen in a long time and I have been around a while. Why has it taken so long to find out who did this to the baby? If they know the baby was microwaved and died then why not jump on it and find out who did it and sentence them to death the same way.

If you put meat into an microwave you will see that, just like in an oven, the outside will cook first. its a myth that microwaves cook from the inside out, still, whatever she did to that baby must have been F***ing sick and twisted!!

I also read today that a man in canada put a baby in the freezer because it had a temperature and he didn't know what to do.
