We have a 40% high school dropout rate for black men, 50% of all black children are aborted, 4 out of 10 black men will end up with a criminal record,& 70% of black children will be born to a single mom, our percentage of the population is now 3rd and dropping. Now if I had said that there was a group like the Klu Klux Klan that had initiated policies that created this crisis every African American would know what their motives are and would be screaming to the federal government to stop it. Then please explain why oh why do you continually support a party (The Democrats) that basically run our public school system, encourage abortion on demand, started the modern welfare system that has basically destroyed the black family. If you look at this objectively the democrats have done more to destroy the black family that the Klan ever could, I would like some thoughtful response on why you fail to see this and why you continue to support this party religiously.

I am not saying that African-Americans should not take responisibilty for their behavior but government policies can affect behavior. If you reward certain behavior you usually get more of it.

You don't want to balme the Klan because you can't. Why is it so difficult to see fault in your own actions and so easy to blame someone else? African-American oppression is not the Democrat's fault. Someday someone will realize that lifestyles need to change and adapt to society not the other way around. Hoping and waiting for everything to change to better fit you is selfish and naive.

as a so called "Hispanic" I know the feeling. I raise my kids as Americans, no "down with the brown" etc. I was involved with civil rights as a youth and discovered two things. 1) it ruined my family (my mom and dad were in civil rights)
2) I brainwash myself beliving I couldnt get anywhere in the white man world. what a crock! I dropped out of school when I had a Marther Luther scholarship to NYU my major was Business and minor was computers back in the '70's, I would have banked!!!. compare my kids who dont even know what a "chicano" is, so far 3 have graduated from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, 1 is in the Army in Iraq, imbedded with the Marines, a patriot, one is an A+ student.
I thank God for our founding fathers, who had the forsight to write the constitution constraining Government and reserving rights to the people.
I believe Government is the greatest enemy to a free people, but a neccessary evil.
If I were "african" american I would certainly support vouchers for education, as the public system has failed "blacks" more than any other group. My only question as a "brown" man is were does (faux) nationalism become racism. Real nationalism is I am an American and other citizens deserve the same freedom as I. Aliens on the other hand are guests, except the illegal ones. Sometimes guests need to leave, when the dont respect the House!

It's been proven that people assign their own physical characteristics to main characters of books. After reading a story of a heroine, one woman described the character as "blonde, tall and average-build" while another called her "short, thin and red-haired" - the character's physical features were never described, but the women assigned the heroine features that they had. That's because when we read characters, we imagine ourselves as the character, constantly saying "is that what I would do? What would I think about that?" etc. I think it's the same way with race. I was reading Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman, and it wasn't until chapter 3 or 4 that I realized the main character was a black man, not a white man. The author is not black, so I found it very interesting that he chose to "hide" the main character's ethnicity, though I don't know if he did it intentionally or if I was just not an observant reader. I definitely automatically assume characters are white, unless I know from reading the back cover or knowing the premise that the characters are not white. It's a safe assumption to make, since most main characters in the books I read are white. Good writers tend to drop hints about ethnicity instead of blatantly saying "he's Mexican" or "she's Japanese" - They will give the person an ethnic-sounding name, like Gonzalez or Martinez. They will describe the color of the skin in an interesting way, like how white teeth contrast with the caramel skin. I don't think there's anything WRONG with assuming ethnicities of characters. I can imagine whatever character I want, until the writer tells me otherwise. I hope that's the kind of answer you're looking for!

Lets not forget all of the wonderful things the Republicans have done for minorities....segregated schools and bathrooms, literacy tests for voting...and how about that Trent Lott and his N jokes? This question is political hogwash, and a foolish attempt by disingenuous right wingers to sway the opinions of people the Republicans have always considered inferior.

A person becomes a 'victim' only if permitted, and people need to take responsibility for their actions. If there is any blame to be placed, it's on the Blacks for doing what they do.
