question for you all about todays life styles?

I've been reading on here alot about lying to each other or spouses or hurting your so called best friend, cheating on each other , sleeping with whom ever being a groupie sleeping with someone best friend etc...people morals seem to have changed alot in years. Is it really all about you the person and to heck with others and whats good for just that person best interest. I feel like im in a time warp zone i feel like I'm not from this era. am i really that behind in thinking . its seems more people on here think opposite of me. Am I too up tight , cause im shocked by alot of things I read on here. I feel like i've been hiding under a rock

You're not hiding under a rock. Most people on here just don't have the mentality or morals that we have. I don't get it either. There is so much backstabbing and cheating going that I feel like I'm on a soap opera. I like answering relationship questions, but at the same time, I get depressed because so many people are getting cheated on.

One of the reasons that you read all this crap here is because people are on here looking for help in solving their problems/issues. Think of it like the news, how often do you see people getting shot and killed, or people beating up on each other. Now think about the last time you heard about a little kid giving his grandma flowers just because he felt like it. It doesn't happen.

Also, a lot of people that post those types of questions (cheating/lying, etc) seem fairly young. Either early 20's or teens, still trying to figure out what they want out of life. When they grow up, they'll eventually come to realize what life and being faithful are all about (although adults cheat too, don't get me wrong).

You may not share their opinions, but you can also use this avenue to try and help steer people in the right direction. If you can get through to even one person, then you're doing someone a favour. That's what I try to do and that's why I'm on here. If one person can benefit from my age and wisdom, then it's worth it.

I agree, I often wonder if I am alien. I still believe in commitment, marriage and faithfulness. I date only when I a ready to date, I never kiss on the fisrt dat and I don;t kiss all of my dates. I don't put out for no one unless there is a real relationship first and I know the other person well enough. Needless to say, I can count my partners with one hand and I'm over 30. I'm very atractive, so is not like I lack attention or suitors, I just think is gross to be kissing and sleeping with everyone that tells you are pretty or buys you a drink.

Needless to say, I'm shi=ock to hear about people's way of living nowadays. They give them self up so easily. And if the person they just slept with don;t call is fine, theyr just move to the next one... I just don't understand it. My freind's 14 yr old daugther has had more sexual partners that me.... I don;t think I'm uptight or old school, I'm completly non-judgamental, I just want to live a healthy life and make mature choices in my life.

If for that I'm an alien ... oh well... I'm happy with teh choice that I've made so far and I don;t have any regrets of the life hat I have lived.

No your not hiding under a rock you are absolutely right!People are so accepting of every thing and it is so wrong to offend people that morals take a back seat in a huge way!!If you look through enough of these questions then you will clearly see how jacked up people are --but its their right and if we say anything to the contrary then we have "anger management problems,didn' t get enough love at home ect.ect.ect...."so then we are the ones w/ the problems and they are just being themselves--which is just a b.s. excuse to wipe their feet on someone else and not be accountable for it!!!!!!~!!!!!!

no your not to up tight, it just how things are now. most people have no morals or role models they walk around numb not caring because they feel as though no one cares for them .some have beem hurt by love ones and only seem to go and hurt people they love.they dont mean to but its kinda like a diease you catch it and pass it on.(thts thats the lifestyle their exposed to) which leads to there wild, violent or unexplainable actions. if they've been hurt before really bad then their not going to care if they hurt anyone else, some even take joy in it. its normal to be schocked but dont feel like YOUR missing something or you've been out casted because your one of the normal people, the rest are dead and depressed inside and their the ones hiding under a rock beacause they havent realize that theres more to life and that they dont have to live that way

The world has become like that, and it is a sad fact. Everyone seems to be out for #1. When I meet a person who has great values and of good moral character.....I hang on tight. They are so far and few between these days. What's worse is that I have three children growing up in this crazy self-rationalizing, easily justifiable world and I can't for the life of me see how they are going to maintain their morals and good sense that I have passed on to them. I pray hard everyday that morals and values will win out over this Jerry Springer world we are all living in.

People come on here looking for help, the people who don't need help don't ask questions on here. Hence that is why you only read about the bad things in marriage and relationships. Albeit many people say the statistics show that more and more people are breaking up now than in past years. I couldn't tell you for sure since I have not seen these "statistics".

Now days ppl have no morals and even when they did things like this yrs ago,they didn't tell every one. But now days ppl have no conscious. I am like you, I am blown away with the stuff ppl post on here. Yeah even the president of the United States got up in front of the whole nation and admitted his adultery. PPL care more about what others think if they don't follow the crowd,then what they think of themselves.

No you are not alone. there are a great many out here in cyber land that feel the same.
Why people have to lie, and cheat is beyone me.
it gets them no where only big problems for theor future when they do this.
Yes this has gone on for many years but not seen or heard by many.
Now that we are so deply involved in the world of elctronics, it spreads like a wild fire.

You are NOT alone! I agree with you totally. At first I thought it was young people with lack of life experiences. But it seems to be others who are older and seem to lack moral fiber, or any real concern for others.
