Taking Extraciricular courses is a good way. Taking Music classes or Art classes. Even taking a couple of sports classes. at My college we had Bowling class HA! Yeap In classes like those you will have more of a chance of meeting people and actually having a conversation with them. In classes that are lecture based you will hardly have the opportunity to meet people unless your really outgoing/slightly annoying. Just Kidding! Good Luck

the university should have plenty of clubs and things going on there. go to the student union and get some more info. i know its not a hobby but bar work in a student pub is a great way to meet people you can have a laugh with.

Why are you yelling?
Since you're in university, the school must have sports teams/clubs you can either join (clubs) or go and support (teams). Find something that you are interested in so that your participation is sincere and people won't think that your just there to find a date for Friday night.
