I dont believe in fate but..im not quite sure what other way to put this question but to ask..do you think that some people are just not "meant" to be in a relationship...that they are just better off alone? Do you think that everyone is happier when they are with someone else? If that is the case, then what defines a loner exactly? Is it the fact that he/she chooses to be alone even though they would be happier in the company of another?

You never know what someone else is happy or unhappy. We the outsiders can only guess and assume things.
I know several people who'd rather be left alone to do their own thing. They are independent people who have strong opinions and are truly happy as a single person. They are not co-dependent and that is precisely what a loner is a person who can go home at the end of the day, alone.
They enjoy doing things more often on their own as opposed to requiring activities involving other people either in small or large groups whatever it may be. Some continuously like to learn. Or watch movies and experience things and absorb it all by themselves. Some like to go through life without disturbances. Others like a calm, peace and quiet.
When I was younger, I would see people from time to time sitting in restaurants sitting alone, dining alone enjoying a meal by themself. I would instantly cry, and feel sorry for them. But as I grew older I realized that 'things aren't always as they seem' and some people can handle themselves just fine. We never know what people have been through, maybe they just want to be left alone.
At the same time, we will always show our compassion and love towards people whether they like it or not! It's a wonderful thing!

WOW, I'm glad you ask this question because i too feel like i'm better off alone and that love or a romantic relationship is meant for me. I dont think that everyone is happier in a relationship, from what i've seen it's a source of alot of drama and headaches. I think a loner is someone who doesnt need other people around them 24/7, and some one that can stand on their own too feet and doesnt need other people to reassure them constantly

u sound like one. course company i best. there are different types loner by choice an those who suck socially so they fail in life. and no it's not fate u make ur own choices. fate talk is for sissys.
