Could I get a recommendation about what book to buy for learning web design? I have read that "Build Your Own Website The Right Way Using HTML & CSS" by Ian J. Lloyd is a good book and that HTML for dummies is a bad book? Any suggestions?

I can use adobe & flash no probs (I'm graphic designer) but want to spread in to web design and need some help on where to start.

Thanks in advance for any help, much appreciated.

I'd say for absolute beginners skip the books. Try looking for basic basic tutorials to get you started. They're free, and better written for newcommers. Plus it's easier to see examples, get help, and decide how to mix graphic design with coding. Also, you may want to invets in a copy of a what-you-see-is-whatyou-get style web design program like Dreamweaver, which also lets you see the coding. Then you can dissect it and learn if that's your style.

You're in luck. HTML is not a programming language, it is a very simple markup language. All you need to understand HTML is a pair of eyes.
