I don't believe there is love at first sight. I believe there is lust at first sight (initial physical attraction) then love can come later.

I think it happens -- if your susceptible.

I also think that love of this nature has both a psychosocial as well as biochemical component.

The significant other is first physically appealing or conforms to some phenotype of which the person is attracted to by nature. Then there are the chemical scent signals - pheromones - which spew forth as a result of being near someone to whom we are otherwise attracted anyway.

Formal relationships then grow as a result of this biochemical and psychomotor response sequence in the limbic system, A circuit of midline structures circling the thalamus that plays a role in the control and production of emotional behavior.

yes i do. I met my honey when I was 17. we kissed within 15 min. , the world whirled away, and that was that. 24 years later he is still the love of my life and my soul mate. Could not imagine life without him. There was no check list or qualities I was looking for, he just "was" and that has been good enough for me. I believe that God made this man for me and the rest is just "details" lol!
My Grandparents were the same way. My Gpa knew right away, asked my Gma out on a first date on Friday, then dinner the next night, asked her to marry him after they ordered their drinks, and were engaged by dessert! lol. Maybe it runs in the family!

Yes and no. I believe in lust at first sight. Sometimes I'll see someone and they just have a look and a way about them that I just want to be with.

After 5 years of marriage I've learned that that is not love however. Real love takes time to develop and is ultimately a conscious choice. I choose to love my wife, even when she doesn't give me that look and have that way about her. That's love.

Yes I met my man and we both knew the minute we saw each other. I never believed in it before then however! It was most def. his eyes and smile. I just saw something in him that I cannot explain. We are happy and have been together for a long time. I don't think there are any qualities that they MUST have to date them formally, you will just know if it happens to you. Good Luck!

At first site, no. After i know her for awhile i could very well fall in love. The qualities are.

Good looks (no, im not shallow!)
Good personality, that fits mine. (bestfriends are bestfriends because they have same personalities)
smart
Knows how to keep a relationship going!

Love is something that GROWS between two people after a long period of getting to know eachother, spending time and bonding.

The reason i don't believe in love at first site is because, how can you love someone when you have just seen them? knowing NOTHING about them. Fall inlove with their looks, yes.

Yes I do. The chemicals just mix very well and must have a good heart, love animals and respect all living things. He must have dignity and respect for himself and when something is wrong he must have the guts to stand-up for what he believes in.
