I think that its a fabulous name, if I had a baby I would certainly have that on the list of names to consider, she will become her name I am sure. Wonderful!

For anyone who happened to find fault with it, has problems of their own, so hey! Who cares.

Call her OPAL.Don't be influenced by others. In this day and age so many new parents are calling their children after celebrities and well known brands that it really should not make a lot of difference. She will become resiliant after a while should name calling be an issue. The opal is a beautiful gemstone and if you want to reflect that in your choice of name you should.

Not neccasarily, in this day in age when people are either making up names up nicking stupid celebrity ones. By the time she grows up she'll appreciate not being one of 10 Britneys or Shakiras on the register!
Both my girls have precious middle names but thats because I'd already chosen their first names, Amber and Crystal.

Maybe you know Opel cars, Opel Fruits etc. Actually I quite like the name, but I think I would stick to a more traditional name. EMily, Emma, Annie, Meg, Molly etc.

Anyway whatever you call her I am sure she suit her name.

Kids are cruel so she might. I like the names Charlotte, Anneliese or Catherine. I wanted to call my daughter Anneliese but my wife said no and we called her Anna Lisa. She is happy about her name and has said she would have liked to have been called Anneliese.
