Truthfully I would think you were a tacky pig.

It depends on the relationship. If you're a really close friend and you talk about sex and your relationships all the time, then yes you can, but only if you do it in private (image if they're with their family and they open the box and out comes this huge dildo!). If you do not have a close relationship, it might be seen as prying or otherwise inappropriate. You can of course always give sex toys as a joke gift.

Chances are they already have their own toys.
First thing men do when they separate or divorce: Buy condoms.
Women get a sex toy.
...If each of them aren't already getting it on the side.
Buy them a small flashlight and supply them with a 24-pack of AA batteries. Tell them you got a great deal on the batteries and they'll not question anything about them insinuating anything.
;)

i think the only really socially acceptable time to give this as a gift would be from another woman at a bachelorette party, or if you are dating or married to the person. If you don't know these people well enough to know how they would react, i would go for a different gift.

It depends on the person. I know woman that would like that and laugh and others that would get pissed. Just joke around and ask them what they would do if someone bought then a sex toy for ex-mass.

It's cool if...
1. You are not married
2. You have a really rapport with them
3. They have talked about using or already owning them
4. They will not expect anything else from you unless they were interested.
5. They know you were not trying to insult them.

Give them that along with another gift, maybe?
I would laugh if I got a sex toy, as long as I didn't open it in front of my parents or kids.

If the two women are your mother and your aunt I'd say it's definitely not appropriate. For all others it would just be the basic inappropriate.

I guess it would depend on the individual . If you know them well enough and you know that they would find it amusing then l'd say go for it !! I would find it very amusing if someone bought me one. I'd probably crack up laughing and would not be offended at all.

If you don't want to take the chance of insulting anyone then don't do it.

You don't buy sex toys for someone who isn't your spouse or lover.
Taking care of their sexual urges is thier business not yours.
