If so, why do you think that is?

Yes, there are some Submissive people who easily get influenced by others. You can know these people from their body language by the way they extend their hand for a hand-shake. If the palm is inclined in such a way that it slightly (or more) faces upwards, you have got such a person. On the other hand, if the palm faces downwards, you know he is a dominating person, trying to influence everybody around.
The reasons are mainly in the upbringing, the way the parents have tried to dominate the person. Also the childhood peers and experience with school bullies affect this.

People who cannot form their own opinion always look to others for the best ideas. Some are born to lead while others are born to follow!

Yes, I think this is true. There are those who trust people more easily (gullible) and those who do not. It's just either in your nature or it isn't.
