Working in customer service on the phone, I would say, customer service on the phone. My co-workers are the main reason my job may go over seas. I worked for "the phone company" for years, and we would never treat a customer--or a coworker the way my coworkers treat customers, and most of our customers are soldiers in Iraq.

Pre-paid phone cards. I HATE my job.

Example of EXCELLENT SERVICE:

Union office so he knew he was being monitored.

Dog breeder needing a toll-free number. She describes what she does, and he says, "So, you spend your day with a bunch of fuc*ing dogs all day?" She died laughing.

They made the deal, and he sent her a hand-written thank you with $5 phone card--which was a novelty then, and he got a couple a month for his sales numbers, and she's been a die-hard customer ever since. That's good customer service.

Telemarketers. They may not be verbally abusive, but they don't care what they may be interrupting when they dial your number, insult you intelligence with their pitch, and wouldn't get off the phone if you said you needed the line to call an ambulance.
