The same way you would use any other powder. Mineral makeup is hype advertising to get you to pay more for what you have been buying all along. Powder is made mostly of talc and TALC IS A MINERAL!

I personally have very oily skin at almost 50. I love using the Two Faced Primed and Poreless pressed poweder as my primer and also my setting poweder. I start by moisterizing first, then lightly dusting my face, avoiding my eye area, and then applying a liquid makeup on top (I use Tart's 12 hr Amazonian Clay makeup), and then dusting my T-zone. It lasts me through a long workday! I think it would also work fine under a mineral powder, as it is so fine that it just really preps the skin and doesn't feel like a layer at all, and it would help minerals go on smoother without grabbing in certain areas. Just my thoughts with my skintype!

Mineral-based makeup is really popular. I have been using Bare Essentials for a while now and I love it. The trick is to not put it on too thick or it can look too powdery. Just like the say: swirl, tap. Ya gotta tap off the excess. Covers real well, even if you have any blemishes. You should always start off with a moisterizer/sunscreen underneath all makeup, plus it makes a nice base for the makeup. Concealer is fine. Do that before you put on the foundation.

yes, you can use concealer underneath or on top of the mineral foundation. And you definitely should use a moisturizer underneath.... It will help the mineral makeup look much better. If your skin is even the slightest bit dry, it will look terrible!

You definitely need to moisturize. Powder makeup looks pretty bad on dry skin. Also remember that a little goes a long way and you can build up coverage to something you can live with that will hopefully still look natural.

I've used everyday minerals and it looks good, is reasonably priced and they give you free samples you only pay shipping on. Go to...

I've been using Bare Minerals forn about a year. It has a concealer product called "Bisque". I use a light mosturizer underneath & then apply Smashbox's "Photo Finish" primer

You can apply it just as you would any other foundation. I would put moisturizer underneath.
Just to the above answerer, never get foundation with TALC. Talc clogs pores and causes breakouts when not cleansed throughly. Play it safe by just not having it.
