My boyfriend and I love Trivial Pursuit... we have the Genus 5 edition, 20th anniversary version, and the Totally 80s version... and my brother is getting us the 90s version for Christmas... we always have a blast with Trivial Pursuit- probably because we both have very competitive natures...
A couple of other good games we really like are Othello and Battleship...

Cranium is a good group game, it has lots of elements from other games like trivia persuits, pictionary, word, numbers and even art rounds, oh and a lump of play doe. So most people are happy to play...good for xmas, to take away the boredom!
