Before the day, after the day, a set date or its just a general guidelines to what "may" happen if you do it!

I usually start several days before to get the kinks worked out, so I can get to it full throttle by the 1st.

I find that New Years resolutions are easier to keep when you start them right away. Instead of putting them off I think it’s better to get your resolutions out of the way.

If you start before new years, its not really a resolution as much as it is self dicipine. Make the resolutions on the eve and start them new years day.

You start on New Year's day - hence the name "New Year's Resolutions"

Don't make them if you cannot keep them.

I can't. When I was born, my mom's resolution was that I would never have resolutions so I have to keep all my bad habits and stuff. If someone could figure a way around this pitfall, then I could resolve to see a little grey just sometimes.
