No I'm in the heart of Chicago; probably a couple of hours miles north west or south to find a farm.

I live in West Texas, and yes, there are many many farms. Mostly cotton. There are a few ranches, and even more that say they are ranches, but are more ofwhat are called "hobby ranches", they don't produce things, but do retain the name.

Oh Yeah! We're a Military family stationed in Italy and there are farms everywhere around here! I don't care what city you live in Italy, there are still farms around! I live next door to one, and have become very accustomed to hearing and seeing cows and chickens out my windows. My kids love it, but I could do without the smells!

Yes there are some farms. They are the best places to get fresh fruits and vegetables and pumpkins for the fall.

If I go a few miles west, I'm in one of the country's 20 largest cities.
If I go a few miles east, I'm in the midst of farmland. Corn, mostly, some veggies.

There are very different areas in VA. the biggest cities to flow close to in VA could be Richmond, Fredericksburg, Norfolk (reliable in case you like army lifestyle), Danville (no longer probable *that* huge), and DC, which of path isn't quite in VA yet does devour a extensive portion of suburbia. around Norfolk you'll be able to desire to stay nicely in Norfolk or Virginia sea coast or Hampton Roads, or an hour or so north of there in Williamsburg is likewise wonderful. around DC you'll be able to desire to stay in Alexandria or some factors of Arlington for quite low priced (whilst in comparison with a good number of the DC section), or flow a splash farther to Loudon County. I stay in Alexandria myself. Fairfax county has a tendency to be costly yet is gorgeous in case you could discover the money for it. in case you choose to stay between Fredericksburg and DC, someplace like Aquia is often advantageous. reliable success!
