Hi >
If you type "kown ow" and "yesterdy" I am not suprised that you cannot read "MIDI" on the back of the keyboard.
It should just plug into the amp / PA. system, and away you go.
Given the right leads.
All the best, though,
Bob.

Firstly, you'll need MIDI ports on your keyboard...have you got these? They'll be labelled IN and OUT, (you may also have THRU as well). If you haven't got them then your keyboard doesn't support MIDI and you'll need a new keyboard!

Secondly, you'll need a source "sound engine" for your MIDI. MIDI's just control data, so when you press Mid C on your keyboard it'll transmit a note on with a value of 60, (that's the note number in MIDI), and an associated velocity, (which is how hard you press the key).

MIDI's pretty complicated and unless you actually want to play another "instrument" from the keyboard you have, then you don't need to be using MIDI...your computer could double as an instrument though, if you've got the right software!

Basically, do you actually need MIDI functionality, (IE do you want to play something else with your keyboard), like a synthesiser or something similar?

MIDI is just a digital representation of what you're doing with your keyboard, which is passed to another electronic instrument, (that is also MIDI enabled)....MIDI is not sound information, so you can't amplify it and play it over a PA, (well you could but you'd just get clicks and buzzes, so unless you're an electro acoustic musician that's probably not the sound you're looking for)!

If you play good enough why do you need to stand miming to some awful track. I can't really work out what you mean because some of the words you've used in your question don't fit together grammatically. do you mean midi tracks? midi tracks are manufactured by the devil and are used by talentless no-hopers. if you mean midi tracks you don't need midi leads unless you're gonna use a seperate midi device other than you're keyboard. you can buy keyboards that play midi tracks. Karaoke is really only one step away from someone calling the police and having you publicly executed.
