It sounds good but the people of the USA and UK have done just that, "given up liberty"
They have allowed big business and corrupt lawyers and politicians to hijack democracy and replace it with a false society where brainwashing (propaganda) is the norm on TV every day.
These governments pass laws that reduce liberty more and more.
All with the excuse they are trying to keep you safe and to protect you but actually it is to control you the individual, they do not like individualism because it is "mental freedom"

That was then this is now. The world has much more and much bigger problems then could have been conceived then. If I have learned anything in life it is to pick your battles and LEARN TO COMPROMISE Sometimes very good things come out of compromise including RESPECT from others.!! and sometimes it helps avoid MUCH bigger problems.
