I think its a bad cycle that needs to be broken. Not all black men walk out on their children, but many do just like my father did. They need to do some soul searching and realize what their priorities are. They need to stop having babies if they are not going to be there for them, stop running away from their responsibilities and be a man. And this just doesn't go for black men, but for all those low lives who think it's okay to abandon their children.

To answer your question..NO. The mere fact that someone is black, white or whatever has nothing to do with whether they'll be good parents. C'mon now, that's just common sense.

Now, with respect to the inner cities and slum and trailer parks, people are products of their environments for the most part. If someone hasn't been taught to be good role models and taught that family is the most important thing in the world, they won't value it. Plain and simple. This goes for all races.

Many people in poverty stricken areas turn to crime, not just black people. Look at what's going on in the slums in Poland, Russia, Korea and the Middle East. Crime is not just a black problem.

I don't think it's just black men. But many of those (of ANY ethnicity) who abandon their children do so because their father walked out on them. It's all they know.
I know too many decent black men to possibly say that it's just one ethnicity that does what you described.

Oh geeze, here we go again. A racial slur. It's not only them, it's all races of people that do this! I am a white female, 41 years old, and can clearly see that it is not just them. It's everybody that does this. So why pick on them. Don't you realize that God put all of us here and loves all of us. Pay no attention to the color of skin.....it does not matter. It's what's in the heart that matters. I have seen plenty of good black fathers. Along with white, asian, mexican, etc... Chill out.

i dont think so, i think race has nothing to do with it...i think its more of where and how a person has had to live and grow up and the enviroment they grown up in, i think theirs just as many whites that turn to crime as their are blacks, it seem that people only make bigger deals out of it when a black commits a crime than when a white person commits a crime.....i am white by the way

I dont know why black men abondon their children but I did not abondon mine. In fact my wife left me and kept me from seeing my kids for 6 months. I finally had to get a lawyer. There are a lot of cases in which black women have been keeping the fathers from the kids.

You may be influenced to think the way you're thinking by watching too much Maury and Jerry Springer. What a shame.
