Listen. Guys would much rather have a young woman dress in regular jeans , sweaters, shirts etc that cover some of the body instead of having more showing. Your mother is right. Most young men view young women who dress with short skirts , tight sweaters , or tiny strap tops as being easy prey, with no brains. Just dress casual and you will get a better response from any age group , not to mention respect. Please dont cry over what your mother said. She was just upset to see you dressed like that without realizing that a lot of young women your age do. But break the trend. I have spoken with a lot of younger men who I work with and they all say the same thing. They would much rather go out with someone who is more conservative in the way they dress then someone who dresses to show everything they have and not much for the imagination. Hope this helps. PS--its hard being a teenager in this time frame. Good Luck and just be yourself.

Kayla...if you own mom feels this way, what do you think the boys at school will think about you? That's what she is worried about. With tv and all happening in your generation, please don't think you need to grow up so fast. There's a good chance you'll find yourself pregnant some day and then you'll wonder why, why you? Sounds like you've got a cute little body, but please think about what you're are going to wear. Tight clothes, mini skirts...all the boys will want you for one thing and one thing only. Sex. Do you really want to attract them this way or with your brains and personality? I'm sure there are other cute clothes you can wear that won't make you look so slutty. Or try pants with the sweater, but put a mock turtle neck under it. It'll still be tight to show off your curves, but won't be "inviting" every guy to check out your cleavage. Wish you luck there. Perhaps ask your mom to go shopping with you for some new styles and I bet she'll even buy them! Well...something to think about.

Awww, I'm sorry. She might have been a little harsh, but you have to understand what it is like for a mother to see their daughter dressed like that. She didn't mean that you're a slut. Mom's can be impulsive like us and say the first thing that comes to mind. She probably meant good. But do try to be a little more conservative in your dress. Nothing good comes out of dressing in skimpy and tight clothing. Don't feel like you should have to impress anybody. Most of the time you end up attracting the wrong kind of attention. Let someone be attracted to you because of YOU and not because of your legs, breasts, or butt. Also, try this site for cute accessories and handbags to go along with your new look: http://www.AmericanChic.net :) Love life.

Your mum does love you and even though what she said is hurtful how you present yourself is how people percieve you.
Maybe try wearing things that " fit " instead of tight clothes and mini skirts. Maybe ask your Mom if she could take you shopping then to pick out some things that would look nicer on you. :) That way you kill two birds with one stone, You show your Mom you do respect her opinion and you can find some nice clothes for yourself that don't look slutty.
Goodluck Kiddo.

Maybe he is uncomfortable with the way you dress. Regardless if you think it is slutty looking or not, he probably saw that cami=skin showing. Talk to him, but don't be angry until you learn how to see it from a parent's point of view. Dads are protective. Calling you names isn't right.. but I don't know him so I can't make a judgment call. Good Luck.

I'm sorry your mum hurt your feelings but maybe she sounded angry because she wanted to offend you into not wearing it.
I'm sure you looked pretty in the skirt, but putting what you have on show could get you into some dangerous situations as some men might see it as an invite- that's not your fault, we should all be able to wear what we want- but given how dangerous the streets are these days, it's probably safer to stick with modest clothing.
If you're out to impress a guy, then remember that a guy who falls for you because of your miniskirt is probably going to be a bit shallow. If you're out to look pretty, then I'm sure you'll look just as cute in a pair of hipster jeans. It's your call!

There are some pervs out there that look at young girls and think sick thoughts. Your mom knows more about that stuff than you do and is just trying to protect you. Showing too much also gives a bad impression. Tone things down a bit until you are at an appropriate age.

It sounds like your mom cares about you and that the communication between the two of you needs work. Sometimes moms worries come out loud and graphic. We dont mean to hurt our daughters feelings. I'm a Mom and i wont let my daughter wear short skirts without bicycle shorts underneath. Theres a lot of perverts out there and you need to stay safe.

moms usually go crazy especially if they have teenage daughters. please learn to stop taking it personally. moms and daughters can be very competitive. if you don't feel this its because you won a long time ago. your mom wishes she still looked good in a mini-skirt so she takes it out on you. learn to forgive and move on.
in your moms defense you might check your skirt. perhaps your mini skirt is too mini? do a quick check in a few magazines next time you are at a grocery store or someplace with a magazine rack and make sure your mini is fashionably correct. please note britney and christina and paris are not always fashionable but pay people good money to touch up their photos to make too much flesh look good. its a good reminder nobody looks that good in real life -- don't try it. figure out what you like in a magazine and go from there. usually something in print in magazines is the right balance of fashion and sass.
you might want to figure it out with your brain and not with your emotions so you can correct the situation by buying a skirt just a little bit longer.
