A recent survey indicated people think Bush is a well meaning "good man" but they fear that he is incompetant. (the War..inability to confront corruption in his own party...national debt....a seemingly lack of concern about American jobs...not pursuing "fair trade" for US workers....a greater interest in "Big Business" than the middle class..were all reasons cited.."

The "bungler" you speak of managed to avoid the draft, is a recovering alcoholic/drug abuser, managed to fool the state of Texas, the American people twice and has many hailing him as the Savior against the War on Terror. Personal beliefs aside, either he is the greatest bungler in history or American people are the greatest bunglers. Can't have it both ways. I prefer to believe that Bush, while well intentioned, is misguided and has used "fear" as the single-most political weapon in history and because we all like to believe in the Presidency, allowed ourselves to be swept up in the moment. America is more than fear, America is hope, an ideal that developing Nations aspire to become. Unfortunately, by forcing American beliefs and values at gunpoint has shown itself NOT feasible and only has served to strengthen the opposition to our way of life. Can you imagine how boring life would be if there were only apples and no oranges. While a democracy works for us and others, it does not and never will work for everyone.

Now that might be the understatement of the year, how anybody could have brought themselves to vote for him a second term is a wonder. He effectively assassinated John Kerry's character or rather his advisers did, but that didn't make him any better as chief executive, I would hope that the moderates and the independents will choose better in the election of

Yep. He's like a guy who comes to install a pool in your basement, and does so by breaking open the water pipes above your washer/dryer. He then asks for twice the rate he originally charged, as you both swim towards the living room.
