That the media is keeping the masses distracted with divisive issues so we don't realize the bigger things we have in common as worker ants in this society and demand changes.

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that gay people deserve the same civil rights as their heterosexual neighbors? Why must frightened straight people actively work against gay rights, under the pretense that allowing for basic human dignity will somehow sully their sacred, sin-free society?
It sickens me to see how blithely some people will insult their fellow human beings by calling them perverse, sick, or evil, when the real problem is that the accusers are simply undereducated and frightened.
It tore me up to see a gay friend attend my wedding, knowing he'd never get to have one of his own, and that if he tried, he'd be denied. That's sick and wrong.
