Tortoises need calcium to its shell, vitamin A, for its eyes, multivitamins, and a lot of sun, ( if they cannot take sun, you can put a fluorecent lamp with uva ),12 hs a day !!!!
Food must be snails, sticks, worms, fish, etc....
...You can put in the water, a mix of a juice from some green vegetables and some tomatoes.....
Remember to do all this to prevent more tortoises die from our hands....
Please look for more information on the web sites !
ThanXs a lot .....

Visit this site is best and (robly reccomended too)

http://www.turtleexchange.com/forum

and

http://www.carsiletortoises.com

and

http://www.thetortoiseshop.com

You can read all the fact and care sheets here on baby and adult tortises too the top link is a forum, post any questions you like on there (you will have to create an accont but thats just a qucik lil thing) and lots of memebers will be very hapy to help. The other two links are links to tortoise shops them selfs, you can find all the info on them sites as well you can talk to the owners of there and they will be more than happy to help you out!

Good Luck

Bacically you need an open table top pen type thing (NOT A VIVUAM OR TANK), a light (UVB, UVA is unnessacary and is contained in the UVB rays) vitamin supliments are also needed which can be purchased from a number of online stores:

http://www.carsiletortoises.co.uk
http://www.everythingforpets.com

You will also need a heat mat (for digestion), suitable bedding (there vary, and depeneds on the type of tortoise you are buying), hiding places, a water bath-thats mainly it-but do buy a book and research greatly before buying one.

Food needs to be looked into carefully-iceburg lettuce cannot be given due to the pestisides contained e.t.c, but other lettuces are acceptable, as well as most other vegetables-you need to also be carefully of watery vegetables (i.e. tomatoes-high in water)

Most things should be easly found on the caresheets provided, i hope you find all the information you need on getting a baby tort, hope you sucseed in doing so,

And most of all Good Luck xx

quite often grasses and non-poisonous weeds. vegetables each now and then and end result rather much in no way. Romaine lettuce as a a hundred% weight-help plan may be undesirable for a tortoise. they don't certainly stay everywhere the place lettuce grows.

Not too sure, but if you don't know how to take care of a tortoise, then you shouldn't have one.... they are not the easiest pet to take care of. They get really big, and they take a lot of time. Ask you vet... they would know more than i would.
