Pound for pound, it is the jaw muscle. I didn't take the time to look up it's scientific name because I doubt you need to know that. Nut anyways, yeah it's the jaw muscle. (I don't know why people keep saying tounge. Could you open a bottle cap with your tounge?) If you think about it, it moves more than any muscle on your body every day, and are there any other muscles that can apply as much force as your teeth? There's no way you could crack a walnut with your fingers, but you could with your teeth. And if you bite down really hard, feel how hard it is. Try getting any other muscle on your body that hard, that easily.

the masseter muscle located in the jaw is the"strongest" muscle in the body. it is the muscle that elevates the mandible and can produce over 4000 N of force (not so sure of the exact amount). Other muscles in the body are quite strong, but must also take into account a longer lever arm, which adds challenge in producing torque. The masseter muscle has a small lever arm, which aids in its ability to produce as much torque as it does. Just a random fact that i learned in my Gross Anatomy class.
