I wouldn't just go to the local bar and carry home a handful of nuts to drop in someones stocking...but if you got a package of nuts...that would be ok.

Well, why wouldn't it be, as long as the receiver isn't allergic to the nuts? Cashews or unshelled walnuts would be a great hit in my family. Shelled peanuts or Spanish peanuts wouldn't, as they are always in the house. Nuts are a great source of energy! Go for it!
