I know it's something to do with the car radio. Does it mean that the songs I have on my ipod can be played through my car stereo?

Its a little radio transmitter your connect to your ipod. It transmits songs on to any radio in the near area on the station 87.9fm. They're really handy and cheap enough.

yes it does - and they are one of the best devices ever!! the only problem comes when you are in a an area with lots of radio stations as it becomes quite difficult to find a station without interference.
