i bought an SATA hardisk and connect it to my not too old Mother Board but it cannot be detected by the board. How can i enable SATA?

If the mobo has SATA headers, the BIOS will have an option to enable them.

It should automatically become enabled, what is your board type? I had to install my SATA as a slave drive in order for my computer to detect it so I'm not sure if this would be your solution too
