i am very thankful that it has not happened to me... but i do know what it means. your HCG levels in early pregnancy double every 24 hours in order to sustain the pregnancy... if your levels are not increasing properly OR they decrease that proves a miscarriage has taken place or is about to take place. i am very disappointed that the doctor didn't prepare you for what was happening when he/she was given the results of the second quantitative blood test... the second test should have been repeated with a third test (and so on if necessary). a transvaginal ultrasound should have been proformed and a DNC should have been done the following day... anything less risks your health and your reproductive health. i would seek the medical care of a new physician!! because you are 30 i would see an Endocrinologist (your insurance should pay this specialist the same as it pays your regular OB/GYN).

i'm sorry to hear about your loss and all that you've been through.

Hi there honey and I am sorry that you are having this problem. I do know how you feel and it all seems so counterproductive when you are trying to conceive.
I can understand that you are apprehensive about the comment concerning your left ovary. I am afraid that you will have to wait until the doctor finds out what it is.
It is not unusual for a bit of fetal tissue to remain after an incomplete miscarriage. It will not only keep you from being able to conceive but it will cause abnormal test results.
Your doctor is right when he tells you that you need to have a D&C. You will feel much better after that is over.
I personally got pregnant the first month after having a D&C. That is, the first month after waiting the usual 6 weeks that they ask you to wait to have sex after the D&C.
The D&C itself is no big deal, they do not make you stay in the hospital overnight at all any more and you will not be in any pain more than a menstrual type cramp. They do, of course give you a general anesthetic for the procedure. They may even be able to tell you what went wrong with the pregnancy by doing a biopsy on the bits of tissue that they find. I am not sure what they will do in regard to this "something on your overy" but if you ask your doctor I am sure that she wil esplain it to you.
Take care of yourself. Use this time to get strong, physically and emotionally. Take your prenatal vitamins and make sure that they have folic acid in them. If you can find some time to read, try the book "What to Expect When You Are Expecting", it will give you happy thoughts of what you have to look forward to!
Eat right and get plenty of rest. Everything will be fine.
Love and Blessings coming your way.
If you would like to, feel free to write to me, I will always write back.

Oh hun im sorry! Did he give you the chance to pass it naturally?

My first was a M/C and I passed naturally....I got preggo right away without evenhaving a period in between. I would ask if you could try to have it the natural way. I dont know how long it can take with a D&C.

I hope it happens fast for you!!!
