I have been told that there is a pill that you can buy over the counter here in the UK that will stop your period, does anybody know what it is called?

It's my birthday on Saturday and I can feel my period trying to come (even though i'm still taking my pill) I just want to avoid it until at least sunday :-(

It seems my period always comes at bad times (valentines day, anniversary) so I asked my doctor. She told me to skip the sugar pills at the end of the pack since they don't do anything but just let your period come. continue onto the next pack with the regular pills and it will hold off on your period until you get to the end of that pack. That is basically what the new birth control Seasonal does. (the one that allows your period once every 3 months). You will be short on pills at the end by a week but will all work out with your next doctor visit.

Just keep taking your birth control pills; women do this all the time.
The way to stop your period is simply to keep taking birth control pills every day---never go off for that week.
Lots and lots of research has shown it is perfectly safe and that there is no need for women to have so many periods. You just have to make sure you are on the right brands of pills for it to work (eg., cannot be of the 3-phase variety, or the 'mini-pill' variety).

Yes there are some pills that stop the menstruation (some vitamin, i think it is K but i'm nor sure or hormone based treatment) but it's not advisable to use such things. You'll only get in trouble afterwards. Your body knows better what to do and when is the right time for it.
