Howzit.
Interesting question.
I think Smith is just going through a bad patch (as every batsman does) and he will just have to play through it. Soon enough, he should be scoring decent scores again.
The thing which irritates me though is his lack of competency at captaincy when SA is in a pressure situation. He never knows what the correct thing is to do. Anyone can captain a side when they're doing well but real class comes through when the team is under pressure to perform and sadly Smith has not shown that class. He makes mistakes which a schoolboy would not do.
He also comes across as having a very poor attitude - he has a massive chip on his shoulder, which as a captain, is unacceptable.

South Africa is not India and their people do not mind even if Smith gets out duck on number of occasions as long as team wins.
