its isp is DODO and it should stay connected for 4 hours at least, but latly its been disconnecting every say 30mins sumtimes hourly or sumtimes every longer but it never stays on for the four hours anymore, wots happend help r phone bills r heaps expensive now.

Ah, the wonders of dialup! Sorry, that's the way dialup is. if they hang up on you, there is not much you can do. Consider broadband if you can. Do you have Telstra in Perth?

i'm unsure however the winsock would have issues. First, test the laptop for viruses. if it would not artwork by using then, attempt resetting your winsock settings. In command instant, variety "netsh winsock reset." then attempt to dial-up returned. If it nevertheless would not artwork, verify if the modem is put in exact, use the gadget manger for this. if that would not artwork, i could recommend reinstalling the modem or domicile windows.

it is common problem , so go to braod band it is fast and also there is no disconnections....
