First of all, the hair does not spread because you shave. That is a myth. All adult women will notice a gradual increase in the amount and darkness of their body hair as they age.

For the slowing down the growth, you have a couple of options:
1. no pain option: use the new 'decreased hair growth' lotions that can be bought. I used one for a couple of months on my legs, and after about 3-4 weeks, you really do not grow as much hair as fast.
2. pain option: start having your armpits waxed. It hurts like hell, but with each waxing, more and more hair follicles get damaged and die, and as a result less hair grows
3. some pain, lots of money option: Laser hair removal. Hurts a bit, not a lot, but costs quite a bit of money. Several visits required. Works best when the hair is dark, but the skin is light.

I have the same problem. I also have to shave my legs every single solitary day and put lotion and stuff. Unfortunately, the hair on my HEAD takes forever to grow! That is so unfair. :( Anyway, I just keep shaving though I think I might start waxing as I heard that will slow it down a lot.

My sister waxes hers and says it's the only thing that kept her hair from growing as fast.
It's very painful and you have to let the hair grow about 1/4 of an inch before you can do it, this time of year is a great time to start this process, you can hide you armpits with winter clothes and you will not sweat as much, that will keep down the rash problem.
Hope this helps and good luck.

this is fairly strange because the hair aint suppose to grow so fast. the best advice i can give you sister is that try to use a hair removal cream or use wax. try not to shave.when you shave you are only making the hair more course and it grows faster

How old are you? of course it grows back. You could try wax, or cream, it lasts longer, but it is more unpleasant than shaving.
There are some lotions that slow hair growth. Try a cosmethics store.

you really ought to start waxing or epilating.

yes it will hurt at first because ur roots are strong, but if u vow to do it regularly, every 3 weeks for the next year at least then u will notice a big difference, i swear.

growth will slow down in the long run and they will get thinner and softer.

but u must exfoliate the skin regularly too to prevent ingrowing hairs. don't worry about this at all.

your just one of the lucky ones like myself that your hair grows very quicky. Unfortunatly there is nothing you can do other than to shave everyday. or maybe get laser treatment( expensive)
