I watch all the News broadcasts Tivo is a wonderful thing and from that I base my opinion on the world happenings. I also read various news articles online and in the paper.
Trust the Media no. They form opinions much like the people. Write what their audience wants to hear. So, by following only one source of news. You get a Biased opinion.
Prime example: Rush Limbough. I personally do not like him. But, I will listen to him sometimes to get the other side of an issue
thanks

The media's purpose is to find a story that will draw in the audience, whether it be semi-truthfull or not. I do not fully trust the media, they mainly just show the worst parts of things. I am enlisted in the military and some of what they say is true, but they are definately "blowing some things out of proportion" Just like Hurricane Katrina... While I was over for the Relief, I did see some horrible things, but the media was just showing selective parts and not all of Katrina was that bad. It was a tragedy what happened and a lot of work is going to be needed to get it back to the way things were, but the media made it look way worse.
I trust what I see personally before what the media says.

All media TV, Radio and Newspapers are owned by mostly wealthy and powerfull people who buy them for the specific purpose of influencing the masses to their philosophy either politically or for even the products you buy.
The presenters are paid to present that companies ideology in a palatable and pleasant way in line with the wishes of the owners and shareholders and are complicate in this to earn their dollar.
It is not a matter of "trust" you cannot trust blindly, it is a matter of being "objective" in what you hear and what you are told and to hear the other side of the story and there always is another side of every story.

i was watching CNN few day back about the Lebanese minster was just killed... no one knows who has killed him yet but CNN even closed the case n confirmed it was Syria!!..while Iranian media calmed it was Israel!!... (n to be honest Iranian media just make more sense! LOL)
sounds like we are being fool by media without even feeling it!

I don't trust any media source completely. In order to get a clear picture of events you must examine several sources. The big media companies are driven by ratings and advertising dollars. I do believe most media outlets are truthful in their reporting, but I also believe they are biased. This bias is evidenced by what stories they choose to report and how they report them.

It sometimes depend on the subject their talking about. Sometimes media outlet can be extremely bias to one side to get a "great" story. Take Fox News on the 04 Presidential Election. They were bias in Bush's favor. Everything prior to the election talked about all positives in his campaign.

Generally, yes. There are enough different types of outlets, say FOX vs CBS, that the story will come out. Sure, some have a different take on things but one should be able to get the information.

I trust it more than Faux News. That "media organization" is a definite bedfellow to the Bush League. :)
My preferences are: NPR, the BBC, and then a mix of CNN, MSNBC, and prime time TV (like CBS or NBC national news)
Local TV news is utter crap, btw.

The only place I can trust to tell the truth is Fox, although even then they seem to pander to the liberals a little.
