Wild guessing:

Clijsters will barely maintain interest during her Retirement Tour, and Petrova, choking under the pressure of all the points she has to defend before the French, will drop out, though Petrova will rebound and almost get back in.

1 Sharapova - will have a big hot streak in a year like Roddick's 2003, when he ran the table during the hardcourt season. She may win 1 major, may win 2 on grunt power.

2 Mauresmo - Ought to be able to repeat at one of her two major triumphs, and plays well in patches here and there throughout the year.

3 Henin-Hardenne - at a guess due to health concerns. Might squeak out a major with a kind draw, but otherwise will continue to get mentally fatigued during the four fortnights. Could be a strong #1 if healthy, though unlikely to have a schedule that favours her for computer point optimalization.

4 Vaidisova - it feels as if someone is going to have a charmed year, and I'll pick her as she's the farthest along of the up-and-comers.

5 Schnyder - has tended to lose mostly to the same group of players year after year, and a lot of them will soon be gone.

6 Kuznetsova - enough game to keep her afloat, not enough head to let her win more than a couple of high-tier tournaments, though she might squeak out another major.

7 Ivanovic - maybe a little less interesting than Jankovic, but more ready for the top 10.

8 Dementieva - same old same old.

9 Hingis - the bloom will come a little bit off the rose, and the new power players will start giving her as much trouble as the old power players did. She could be well higher up the list, though, as she always did play the computer well.

10 Safina - good things seem to happen to her just enough every so often, but I've a hunch this could be her peak.

1- Roger will win 2 grand slams- Most likely Wimbledon and the US open. He will win more titles than last year and will end the year as number 1 2- Rafa will slowly recover. He will win probably win 2 master series tournaments. He won't dominant the clay season (as Djokovic, Del Porto not to mention Federer are becoming more of a threat). As for the grand slams, I predict Rafa to make it to the French open final but I'm not sure if he's going to win it! Rafa will most likely finish the year in the top 3! 3- Maria Sharapova- There's just too many good players out there! And I don't think she will be able to win 7 matches in a row! So no grand slams for Maria but I do believe her ranking will rise! Hoping 2010 is a good year for her! 4- Justine Henin- She'll win the french beating Clijster! I think her ranking will sky rocket and she'll get back to the top 5 by the end of the year! 5- Novak Djokovic- He's definety a future number 1, but he's not going to past Federer anytime soon! I predict Djokovic to make the Aussie open final, but not any other at grand slam level! This year Djokovic will win alot of the smaller tournaments. Most likely 2 master series tournaments and 3 or 4 smaller 250/500 ATP tournaments. Djokovic will end the year in the top 5! 6- Venus Williams- I predict she'll defeat Henin in a epic final at Wimbledon. But I don't see her doing anything ese. She will probably end the year in the top five. 7- Argentina wins davis cup- I agree 8- Melanie Oudin- I agree. I think she'll drop in the rankings a little. She's only young. Probaby won't repeat her US open run! 9- Dinara Safina- She will stay in the top ten but won't make it to any of the grand slam finals. 10- Andy Roddick- Will win more titles than last year! Maybe makes the US open final. Will stay in the top 8!
