No because kids play with barbies and we don't really want them to think that it is ok to be fat. Maybe average barbies but not fat. I don't think they need to be skinny like they are now because that isn't really the average weight of a person.

for the people who make barbies, its all about making money isnt it. fat barbies wouldnt have as much appeal to young girls and therefore would loose the manufacturers money, if you feel so strongly about the matter then write to the company who makes barbie.

I dont see why not...and barbies in a wheelchair....barbies with limbs missing...barbie in hospital. In australia they make a doll called Feral Cheryl and she is anatomically correct. She has dreadlocks, piercings and pubic hair etc etc. Actually she is the Anti-barbie...lol

It might be more politically correct. But I can see how it would drive children on the brink of anorexia to eat even less. And it would send the wrong message to heavier kids that it is healthy and OK to be heavy. Actually, there is no good answer here!
