My husband has a lot of colored undershirts that smell like dirty sneakers.How can I get rid of the smell?

Any washing powder takes away the smell after one wash.Wash colours seperately from whites in case the dye comes out.

I hope this may help you.....
1st and most important do not wash such a large amount at one time, make sure that the shirts have enough room to truly wash.


Wash on the largest water level.
Add 1cup of vinegar with Tide.
Re wash with a box of baking soda.
Then rewash with just Tide.
I used to have to wash like this before my husband became disabled and work in the oilfield.
I also would just wash the shirts alone nothing else.

I have the same problem with my gym clothes sometimes. I can usually just wash them in regular detergent, but if it's really bad I will throw in a cup of Oxy-Clean. It seems to do the trick and it won't ruin the colour on your clothes like some "colour safe" bleaches will. If you can't get Oxy Clean there are other alternatives available at your supermarkets.

After a good wash, when you do the rinse Add about 1/2 cup of vinegar, to the rinse water. this will take out the smell. and when you dry them you will never know that you used vinegar.

Wash with Tide and a new product called "Febreze Laundry Odor Eliminator". You just add to your regular laundry products and it removes odors. Works great. It's a little hard to find in the stores sometimes but, you can buy it on line.

after heavy washing, soak it into a fabric conditioner for 30 mins..
