I'm in a bad situation right now that just leaves me feeling as if I want to jump off a building. I don't know the meaning of life anymore because everyday that I get up, see no changes. Financially, I'm in the pits. I have this dead end job that I used to like, but just hate it now! It's paying me about $200 every two weeks. I only work a couple of hours a day and that's the thing the hours cuts right into my day and prevents me from getting another part time or full time job. I have tried so hard to get a job and nothing has worked out. There are so many things I need that I can't afford to get like food. Some days, I don't even know where my next meal is going to come from. I have student loans to pay back and I have to get new glasses. I can't even afford to purchase prescription sunglasses and the sun's messing up eyes. What's the point of me living if can't afford to live like a human being?

You need Jesus Christ in your life in the worst way. All of us go through hard times--- the Lord knows that I been through my share. God allows adversity into a person's life in order for them to develop character and spiritual strength. My suggestion to you is that you do not give up. there is never success in giving up. Suicide is never the answer---it is the ultimate expression of failure. God loves you and he has a plan for you. Pray----spend your spare time praying. God answers all prayers in his time according to when he feels that you are ready. Do not concentrate on the future, but live each day as it comes. Go to your job every day and do your best for your employer. Find the joy in the work that you use to have---you might be pleasantly surprised at what changes might come your way. Ask for extra hours at work----volunteer to do anything that is available no matter how distasteful or demeaning it may seem. Some of the best promotions that I have received we because I took jobs that nobody else wanted and did them better than anybody before me had done them. And do not worry----worry is your biggest enemy because it distracts you from the love of God. Have faith in God to see you through this. Jesus said, ...."without me ye can do nothing." Do not try to go it alone----you will never succeed by your own efforts. Jesus loves you and he wants you to be successful in life.

You can't see the 'meaning of life' because you're so wound up about your situation.

First things first. Let's sort out the job. Is there a reason you can't work for more than a few hours? $200 every two weeks doesn't sound like it's worth doing at all! No wonder you can't afford anything.

How about fast food restaurants? In my experience, they often have openings for staff and meals are often provided. While they don't pay a fortune, it's a start. And the hours are often flexible.

What I'm saying is break down your problem so it doesn't seem so insurmountable. Only try to fix one thing at a time. Yes, you're in a bad situation right now, but nothing lasts forever. In time you'll get out of this rut and get your life back on track I'm sure. Good luck!

It's going to be alright! You are living like a human being! A lot of people cant afford the necessities of every day life. As far as knowing the meaning of life... well, who know what that is really. I cant give you a solution to your problem but you can start by not feeling sorry for yourself. Then when you are over that you can start seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Get another job and stop being a baby....

You sound like your in a hole. Look at this logically. You have a degree I suppose from your student loan debt. You could teach school anywhere in the USA. You could manage a retail or food service business and start working today. You never go hungry if you work in a restaurant. You have to want to succeed in order to make it happen.

Stop looking at the sun if it hurts your eyes. Get a night job. Sleep during the day.

Luxury and sloth are not entitlements in life. Embrace you challenges as they occur and celebrate your successes. Who said it was gonna be easy anyway? Life is all about the love and experience. Accept yourself and the world is good. It will be okay, you just have to make some changes. Change is a constant that you have to accept and anticipate. Roll with the punches and it will be fine.

Sometime the hardest thing to do is to put one foot in front of the other. I have been in a bad situation myself, and was homeless for 4 yrs. I lost my 7 yr old daughter, mostly due to mental health issues. Had CPS understood, or took the time to help me I would still have her with me. I understand how hard it is. I wanted to die for most of 2 yrs. and could not understand why I kept waking up, that is when I could even sleep. try a tech school who will help with financing, open the phone book and start calling anybody and everybody that has social programs. there is no shame in falling down, the shame is in not getting back up. If I am still here I know you can make it. Just keep asking for help, it won't come easily, but don't give up. You are here for a reason, and maybe you will one day help someone else for having "been there"

Depression is a genuine problem that makes everything else harder to deal with. It's difficult to get a better job when you are depressed.

Here in California, USA the government will assist you in many ways to get on your feet. Food stamps for food, medical for new glasses and medication for depression if needed, low income housing like a 2 bedroom apartment for $95.00 a month and, best of all, assistance with finding a better job and if needed, new training. You can even get money for going back to school. It is only temporary. they expect progress, but you begin to feel so good about yourself and with many people it's just the thing needed to turn their life around. check with your local government agencies. they should be listed in the phone book. Hang in there. Two years from now you may not even recognize the person you are today.

You have to get yourself out there! 2 hours a day really does not have to stop you from finding another job! None of us could make it on that! Pick up a free (left) newspaper at a Macdonalds & start looking. You have a computer-try craigslist.com.Just DO something about it daily! You'll do fine & obviously have an education-just get busy!! You can do this!!

I think you need to start by talking to your employer and explaining that you could use more hours. If they can't give you that then just keep searching and something will be sure to come up, you could go for one with training or something. I'm not sure what else to say really, but you just have to hang in there because if you give it enough chance and work hard enough everything will turn around and you'll come out the otherside a better person for it.

Things have to work out some how. I'm in a tough place right now too (not about money, but with life) and there's mornings when I wish I didn't wake up.

But just trust that things are gonna work out. Maybe not now, but it will... I hope.
